I'm a big fan of the use of bamboo scaffolding. It was used everywhere, even on structures as tall as in the above picture. I heard that the architect in charge of the washington memorial restoration designed a wooden scaffold, but he was forced to used aluminum for safety reasons. I'm curious what the rate of failure on bamboo structures is, but it certainly appears to be be fine based on it's wide spread usage.
