Quick selection of photos to give you a sense of next week's activities.
To the right is the garage and guest house on second floor. Main building is to the left and the ocean is beyond that. I really like the choice of materials; the aluminum complements the warm cedar nicely. I hope the wood does not turn to grey, but I think that is expected. Beach grass is a nice touch that reminds that the beach is just a few meters away.
Front entrance to the house. The path on the right is lined with hydrangeas. As I understand, hydrangea petal color is a function of soil acidity (blue ->acidic, pink ->basic), so I was suprised to see both blue and pink flowers on the bushes. I want to say they were all blue last year.
The inside is so much brighter. It's hard to believe that house has the same footprint. Will had a fantastic idea to orient the angle brackets that support the stairs so they are hidden inside each stair. This allows a cleaner view of the lake as you enter the front door.
the large glass doors provide a much less obstructed view of the lake.
Rear of the house. The wonders of adding a second floor. Can also see the new foot wash and outdoor shower. Both quite useful.
Living room. Table top is a from a single piece of wood.
Pops (grandfather ) reading on the porch on a rainy day.
Walkway upstairs. Oh how I like tall ceilings.
So much light on the second floor.
I really like this fossilized fish detail by on of the sinks. My dad could not believe it was real.
